Kriti Kharbanda, stated her wish to smack Hina Khan for her remarks
“Before that, I had a lot of respect for Hina Khan. She is a well-known television personality. That is not how you address people. Look at me, I used to be an actress down south (and I am not bulgy). There is no reason to (say such things on national television). It’s awful that an actor of that quality is speaking like that,” an irritated Kriti Kharbanda said in an interview with Spotboye.
“Whether it’s Tamannaah, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, or anyone else, our weight is our issue, and if we want to gain weight, we gain weight,” Kriti said, adding that her Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana director Ratna Sinha had also asked her to gain weight for her character in the film because the script required it.
Kriti, on the other hand, did not stop there. In response to the “bulging” statement, the actress stated that she would smack Hina right then and there, and that if characters demand that heroines gain weight, they will do so without hesitation.

KRITI’S PROFESSIONAL LIFE
She made her Telugu debut in the film Boni, starring Sumanth. Despite her box office failure in her debut, she went on to co-star in Theenmaar with Pawan Kalyan, which was an average grosser.
She also appeared as a guest in the popular Telugu film Ala Modalaindi and in Mr. Nookayya with Manoj Manchu. In Tollywood, she co-starred with Ram Pothineni in Bommarillu Bhaskar’s film Ongole Githa, which was a flop. She appeared in the first 3D action Telugu film Om 3D, which was released in July 2013 and starred Kalyan Ram, however it was a box office flop.
Kriti’s notable modelling campaigns during her undergraduate days included Bhima Jewellers, Spar, and Fair and Lovely. Kharbanda’s image on the Spar billboard drew the attention of Raj Pippala, an NRI director looking for a female lead for his film. This laid the groundwork for her acting career. Kriti revealed that she had no intentions of becoming an actress and that it was only because of her mother’s motivation that she considered it seriously.
Her Kannada career, on the other hand, took off with the romantic comedy Googly, in which she co-starred with Yash. Critics praised her portrayal of a medical student. Sify commended Kharbanda in particular, calling her “the heart and soul of the film…who emerges triumphant on the big screen with some great performance.” The film went on to gross more than 15 crores at the box office, making it one of the highest-grossing Kannada films of 2013. Kharbanda’s popularity grew to the point where she was named the Bengaluru Times’ Most Desirable Woman of 2013.
She became an even more sought-after actress in Kannada film after the success of Googly. She added that she received numerous offers following Googly, including two Bollywood movies that she had to turn down due to her commitments to her previously signed films. Her 2014 Kannada releases, Super Ranga starring Upendra, Belli starring Shiva Rajkumar, and Tirupati Express, a remake of the Telugu film Venkatadri Express, all received great reviews. Her performance in Super Ranga earned her the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actress at the 4th South Indian International Movie Awards, as well as a nomination for Best Actress in the Filmfare Awards. Kharbanda’s most recent Kannada film Minchagi Nee Baralu was released in December 2015 to positive reviews. She received special praise, with The Times of India saying that she’s the “biggest plus point of the film”.
