The Trump administration has issued strict rules to curb the visit of the leaders of China’s ruling Communist Party and their family members to the US. Tensions between Washington and Beijing may increase further due to these new rules.
The two countries are already under fire over several issues, including the Corona epidemic, Hong Kong and the South China Sea. These rules, issued on Wednesday by the Trump administration, have to come into force with immediate effect.
According to a US State Department spokesman, under the new rules, visas issued to Chinese leaders and their close family members will be valid for just one month. That is, they will now be able to stay in the US for a maximum of one month.
