According to the results of the Clean Survey 2020 of the Government of India, Indore was selected as the cleanest city in the India. Surat city of Gujarat stood second in the list released on Thursday. The third number is from Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra.

Under the survey, cities are given numbers in different categories. Every city is rated on a scale of 6000 numbers. Indore has got 5647 numbers out of 6000. A city is given numbers on different criteria related to cleanliness, such as:
Collecting and transporting waste
Process and dispose of garbage
Sustainable sanitation
New and improved practice
Market condition of fruits and vegetables
Condition of railway station, bus stand
Beautification of city areas
Encroachment and drainage treatment
Public opinion and hygiene app

Indore city has got 500 out of 500 to collect garbage. Apart from this, 679 out of 700 were found to process and destroy garbage.
Wet and dry garbage is collected separately by the city. Every house has a separate dustbin for wet and dry waste. In every house, vehicles come to collect garbage, different chambers are made to put different types of garbage in these vehicles.
They are then transported to separate units for processing, wet and dry waste is processed in different machines.
A machine with artificial intelligence technology has also been installed in the city to process dry waste. This machine removes plastic, paper and other types of garbage without human help, this segregated waste is sent to be recycled.
“We process 1150 metric tons of garbage every day, that is, all the garbage that comes out of the city. We have used modern technology, they are a role model for the whole country,” says Asad Warsi, consultant of Indore Municipal Corporation.
679 out of 700 were given to the city in the processing and disposal category.
Processing waste is possible only when the waste coming out of the houses is separated. People living in Indore have contributed a lot to it.
Diwakar Chaudhary, a resident of Indore, says, “The concept of segregating wet and dry waste is very good. For the last four years it has generally worked well. It also arranged a third box for sanitary pads and diapers. She went, but for the last few days, she has been mixing them with other garbage. Yes, every time the survey is being done, every rule is strictly followed. is.”
City without trenching ground
There was a large trenching ground in the Devgurdia area outside Indore city where the entire garbage of the city was thrown. The Indore Municipal Corporation claims that the entire waste has been disposed of and now there is a field instead of trenching ground on which tree saplings have been planted.
This place with a mountain of garbage was always on fire. It was also difficult for the people living nearby to breathe. But within a few months of last year it was transformed into a field.
According to Mayor Malini Gaur, “This is one of our biggest achievements this year.”
The municipal corporation claims that the entire waste has been treated and destroyed. However, many people believe that a large amount of waste has been covered with soil.
