An interesting behind-the-scenes story from the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan has recently been shared by actor Manoj Bakshi. He revealed that during the shoot, child artist Harshaali Malhotra had to spit on Salman Khan’s hand multiple times as part of a scene requirement. According to him, Salman calmly extended his hand nearly 20 times without any hesitation or discomfort.
Manoj Bakshi shared this in a talk with Varun Tiwari and said he saw Salman Khan’s simple and down-to-earth nature, even though he is a big superstar.
He further explained that in one of the scenes, Harshaali’s character Munni had to eat food on camera. As per director Kabir Khan’s instructions, she needed to chew properly, but she often struggled with large bites. Instead of stopping the shoot repeatedly, Salman reportedly supported the process patiently by continuing the scene and cooperating throughout.
Manoj also recalled telling Salman that he didn’t need to do such things for a child artist, to which Salman simply replied that this is just how he is.
Bajrangi Bhaijaan, released in 2015, went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of Salman Khan’s career, earning around ₹921 crore worldwide. The emotional bond between Salman and Harshaali was widely loved by audiences.
Harshaali Malhotra was selected after auditions of nearly 5,000 girls. She was just six years old at the time of filming and is now 18, actively working in South Indian films.
