Mukesh Khanna has made it clear that he does not wish to see Ranveer Singh in the role of ‘Shaktimaan.’ He believes that this character requires a fresh face someone who embodies simplicity and possesses a wholesome, clean-cut image. To this end, he is even prepared to conduct auditions across the entire country.
Only a New Face Will Become Shaktimaan
Mukesh Khanna asserts that children today need a character like ‘Shaktimaan’ more than ever before. Just as the show guided children onto the right path back in 1997, the need for such a figure has become even more critical in 2026. He also clarified that he himself does not wish to reprise the role of Shaktimaan; rather, his goal is to carry the legacy of this character forward.
He praised Ranveer Singh as a great actor, but said that playing Shaktimaan needs not just acting skills, but also the right personality and image. According to him, a pre-established “star image” does not align well with the requirements of this particular character.
Mukesh Khanna further revealed that this decision is costing him crores of rupees in potential earnings. A lucrative offer is already on the table, yet he is declining to accept it solely due to the casting issue. He maintains that, this time around, a fresh face will be introduced as ‘Shaktimaan’ someone capable of truly embodying and doing justice to the character’s authentic identity.
