Mumbai’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) will soon file a chargesheet against the main accused, Mohammed Salim alias Lavish, in a ₹252 crore drug case. While several prominent names surfaced during the investigation, the police maintain that no concrete evidence has been found against any celebrities thus far.
According to officials, no individual can be deemed guilty solely on the basis of a statement made by an accused person. Lavish is alleged to be a close associate of the absconding drug kingpin Salim Dola and was extradited to India from the UAE.
Reports say the case may be linked to an international drug network, with operations handled from abroad and money moved through the hawala system. During the probe, some parties were mentioned where celebrities were allegedly present, including Nora Fatehi and Shraddha Kapoor. However, Nora Fatehi denied any involvement and said her name is being wrongly linked to the case.
The case began in 2022 when a person was caught in Mumbai with drugs. Subsequently, the investigation progressed, leading to the unearthing of a vast criminal network. In 2024, a drug manufacturing facility was also busted in Sangli, resulting in the seizure of a massive quantity of Mephedrone and assets worth crores of rupees. All eyes are now fixed on the chargesheet and the subsequent stages of the investigation, which are expected to reveal the full truth behind this entire case.
