About – Kabaddi and Kushti are two forms of Asian wrestling that have gained widespread renown in the Indo-Pakistani region. Throughout Pakistan, but especially in the province of Punjab and in certain parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, formal Kabaddi and Kushti matches are held on an annual basis.
The Punjabi city of Gujranwala is often regarded as the epicentre of such sports, and its native Pehlwans have gone on to achieve international renown (Wrestlers).
But because the organisers of these games have little to no money to adequately publicise the events, these sports are progressively losing its popularity and fading from the spotlight.
Hundreds of people come to watch and enjoy Kabaddi and Kushti matches despite these issues and barriers every time there is a match, which is one of the good aspects of these sports. This demonstrates that these games are still very popular among the people of Pakistan despite ignorance.
