Sanju was in a relationship with Tina Munim but this relationship ended soon. Dutt got married to Richa Sharma. She died due to a brain Tumor in 1996. The couple had one daughter.
Dutt was a drug addict which is believed to be triggered by the death of his mother. He was admitted to a rehabilitation center several times but it took him a long time to come out of his drug addiction. He was also a Casanova who had slept with several women. It is also believed that he was involved with the underworld and allegedly supported the terrorists in the 1993 bombings. He was jailed for 6 years of rigorous punishment under tada but his involvement in the terrorist attacks was not proved.
