Salman Khan Films has dismissed reports claiming that the certification process of its upcoming film Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace has been put on hold by the CBFC. In an official statement, the production house clarified that these reports are completely false and misleading.
The makers said the film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification, so there is no question of the process being stopped. They also requested the media and the public not to believe or share unverified news, adding that all official updates will be shared only through Salman Khan Films’ official platforms.
Film Based on the Galwan Valley Clash
Matrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers. The film was earlier titled Battle of Galwan and was initially planned for an Eid release before being postponed.
Produced by Salma Khan under the Salman Khan Films banner and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film stars Salman Khan, Chitrangda Singh, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Ankur Bhatia. The music has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
The teaser was released on *December 27, 2025, on Salman Khan’s birthday. In the film, he plays Colonel Santosh Babu, an Indian Army officer. On the work front, Salman is currently shooting for SVC63, directed by Vamshi Paidipally. The film will also star Nayanthara, who will share the screen with Salman for the first time. It is expected to release on Eid 2027.
