Roger Federer is a tennis player from Switzerland. He was at the number one position for the record time of 310 weeks. He also holds another record of being at position one for 237 continuously. He has won 103 singles titles, 20 grand slams, 8Wimbledon Men titles, and many other awards. He played with two other biggies, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. They all are considered as most successful tennis players of all time.

Early Life of Federer

Federer was born on August 8, 1981, in the city of Switzerland, Basel. He was born to Robert Federer & Lynette Federer. He has one sister who is older than her. Roger spent his childhood in Birsfelden, Riehen, and later shifted to Munchenstein. He was fond of football in his childhood and supported the Swiss Football team. He had served in the military and civil police protection forces of Switzerland. Roger debuted in Tennis in 1996 when he was 14 years old. He played in a grade 2 tournament in Switzerland. Just after two years, he won both Wimbledon singles and doubles. He got the No 1 ranking just 2 years after

Starting His Senior Career.

Federer started his senior career with Swiss Open Gstaad in 1998. But he lost his first match and round. Even after this, his career was a mix of losses and wins. He entered the top 100 ranking after 1 year on 20th September 1999.

After this, his career started gaining some pace and he won his first Grand Slam single in 2003. And rest his history, he back-to-back won many titles. 2006 was the best season of his life but his dominance was still there after 24 years of his career.

Recently he declared his retirement from tennis through a social media post.
