Seeing the seriousness of the matter, US President Donald Trump has ordered General Motor to make ventilators. Trump has imposed the Defense Production Act of the time of the Korean War. Under this, the President gives orders to companies associated with production in view of national security.
Trump said that General Motor is wasting time while urgent action needs to be taken to save the lives of American citizens. Earlier, President Trump said that no defense order is needed as companies are coming forward to help in the fight against this virus.
General Motor has said that it can make 10,000 ventilators every month from April. General Motor is working with a medical device manufacturer based in Seattle. The demand for ventilators has increased in hospitals in the United States due to the increased infection of the corona virus.
New York is most affected by the corona virus infection across the United States. From here, 30 thousand ventilators have been demanded. In New York, only seven thousand new cases of infection with the corona virus were reported on Friday. So far, 44 thousand people have been infected with the corona virus and 519 people have died.
