Mouni Roy is an Indian television and Bollywood actress. She has become a household name after her portrayal of Sati in the Indian television show, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and a shape-shifting serpent in Naagin.
Early Life–
Mouni Roy has her roots in Cooch, West Bengal. Her family had a lineage of theatre artists. She completed her higher education at Kendriya Vidyalaya and pursued her graduation in Delhi but didn’t complete it to focus on her career in acting.
Initial days and Success–
She made her TV debut with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi in a supporting role but her breakthrough show was Devon Ke Dev Mahadev on Life OK wherein she played the role of Devi Sati alongside Mohit Raina. She went on to do some more popular sitcoms and also featured in dance reality shows like Zara Nach Ke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and she also won the former.
Yet another show which brought Roy immense popularity was Naagin produced by Ekta Kapoor wherein she played the role of a shape-shifting serpent. She also starred in the second season of the same show and apart from that, ventured into being a host, and voice artist, and featured in music videos.

Debut in Bollywood–
Roy stepped from the small to the silver screen in 2018 in the movie Gold starring Akshay Kumar. She went on to do more flicks like Made in China and R.A.W. alongside Rajkummar Rao and John Abraham as the female lead in the movies.
She has also been a judge of Dance India Dance Li’l Masters and featured in an OTT movie called London Confidential which was released on Zee 5.
Her latest project includes Brahmastra where she plays the fiery negative shade of Junoon alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. She has received humongous appreciation for her portrayal from film critics and the audience.

Mouni was rumored to have dated her Devon Ke Dev Mahadev co-actor Mohit Raina but both the actors hadn’t confirmed or denied the news ever.
