Indian-born playback singer Jonita Gandhi resides in Canada. JONITA GANDHI EARLY LIFE
Gandhi was born into a Delhi-based Punjabi family. When she was nine months old, her family moved to Canada’s Brampton, where she was raised. Later, her family relocated to Mississauga. Gandhi attended Turner Fenton Secondary School and the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Business School, where she earned her health science and business degrees in 2012. In both Western and Hindustani classical singing, she has had official training.

She tried out for Canadian Idol at the age of 16. However, she was eliminated during the audition process. She started posting YouTube covers from her bedroom, occasionally collaborating with other nearby singers like Akash Gandhi. The videos gained a lot of attention and provided numerous performance chances. Her most popular videos on YouTube are renditions of songs from popular Hindi movies, including Pani Da Rang, Tujhko Jo Paaya, Tum Hi Ho, Suhaani Raat, Yeh Honsla, and many more. These covers were often played during her debut performances. She got her start in playback singing when she was given a chance to perform with Sonu Nigam. The Caribbean, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia were all visited on this journey. Gandhi will make her acting debut in the Tamil film Walking/Talking Strawberry Icecream, directed by Vignesh Shivan and starring Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, in 2021.
