In the case filed by the CBI in the INX Media case, P. Chindabaram has got bail from the Supreme Court, but he will not be able to get the exemption right now. He is currently in ED custody. In the INX Media case, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram (P Chidambaram) has got relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court granted Chidambaram bail in the CBI case on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. During the hearing of the case, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the CBI, had said that Chidambaram should not be granted bail in the case till the trial of the case begins and statements of key witnesses are not recorded. At the same time, advocate Kapil Sibal, on behalf of Chidambaram, tried to assure the court that Chidambaram would not run away from the country. The High Court also admitted that Chidambaram is not in any position, so he cannot tamper with the evidence and cannot leave the country.
In 2007, INX Media Group was accused of irregularities in the approval of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) to obtain foreign funds of Rs 305 crore during the tenure of P Chidambaram as finance minister.

The CBI filed an FIR on May 15, 2017, accusing the INX Media Group of receiving foreign funds of Rs 305 crore in 2007 for alleged irregularities in an approval by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB). After this, ED had filed a case of money laundering in this regard in 2017.This happened during P Chidambaram’s tenure as finance minister.
The 74-year-old senior Congress leader challenged the High Court’s September 30 decision in the apex court. The High Court had rejected his bail application in the INX Media corruption case filed by the CBI. A bench of Justices R Bhanumathi, Justice AS Bopanna and Justice Hrishikesh Roy will pronounce their verdict on the CBI’s plea challenging the High Court’s decision.
P Chidambaram has been in custody for almost 50 days in the INX Media case. Earlier, the investigating agency CBI opposed the bail application of P Chidambaram in the Supreme Court. The CBI said that Congress leader P Chidambaram has been trying to influence the evidence and the witnesses. Let us know that recently the CBI has filed a charge sheet in the INX Media case.
