High alert in 15 districts of Bihar due to ‘Water Catastrophe’, call these numbers for help

Bihar Water Catastrophe

Due to the continuous rains for the last 48 hours in Bihar including the capital Patna, 15 districts of the state have been red alert. Due to heavy rains in the state, normal life has been disturbed, while the operation from the road to the train route is badly affected. Schools and colleges in many districts of the state have been closed till further orders. The state of undisclosed bandh is being seen from this deluge. 210 mm of rain has been warned in the state.

Red Alert districts: Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Banka, Samastipur, Madhepura, Saharsa, Purnia, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Katihar, Vaishali, Munger district have been red alert. These districts are expected to receive more than 210 mm of rainfall.

Orange Alert districts: Orange alert is in Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Saran, Begusarai, Bhojpur, Buxar, Jamui, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur district. 120 mm to 200 mm rainfall is expected in these districts.

Yellow Alert: Yellow alert is in Patna, Sheikhupara, Lakhisarai, Nalanda, Siwan, Gepalganj, Nawada, East Champaran and West Champaran. 70 to 110 mm rainfall is possible in these districts.

NDRF-SDRF took command

The NDRF and SDRF have the responsibility of dealing with the emergency situation in the state. Due to rain, the soldiers of both teams have been deployed. In Patna, NDRF and SDRF have been fitted with a boat so that people trapped in rain and water logging can be safely evacuated. The Disaster Management Department has appealed to the people to make alternative arrangements for lighting as well as to store drinking water.

Government appeals to the people

The Chief Secretary of the state has also appealed to the people that people should be prepared for emergency. Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar has appealed to the people not to leave the house if there is no need. For drainage in Patna, the Chief Secretary has instructed to run all pump houses continuously. Along with this

Patna has been put on red alert where there is a possibility of filling more water.
