Gabriel Swann Macht, born on January 22, 1972, is an American actor as well as film producer best recognized for his roles as Harvey Specter on USA Network’s Suits (2011-2019) and as the main protagonist in the 2008 superhero picture The Spirit.
EARLY LIFE
Macht was born in New York City’s Bronx to Jewish parents. He’s the son of museum educator and archivist Suzanne Victoria Pulier and performer Stephen Macht. Jesse, a musician, Ari Serbin, and Julie are his siblings. Macht was brought up in California and resided there until the age of five. He studied at Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts after qualifying from Beverly Hills High School. He joined the Delta Upsilon fraternity at Carnegie Mellon.
CAREER
After appearing in his first part at the age of eight in the movie Why Would I Lie? under the stage name Gabriel Swann, Macht was shortlisted for the Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award.
He has played a variety of parts in movies and television shows, such as those in Archangel, The Good Shepherd, Because I Said So, and A Love Song for Bobby Long. Macht spent a week at sea filming aboard the flight deck, hallways, and hangar bay #3 of the USS Carl Vinson for the 2001 movie Behind Enemy Lines. In Frank Miller’s 2008 film version of Will Eisner’s comic book The Spirit, Macht portrayed the title character. Despite the movie’s failure as a box office hit, Macht’s name and the movie have earned cult status.
It was revealed in July 2010 that Macht had agreed to feature in the USA Network series Suits, which had previously gone by the official name A Legal Mind. Macht made an appearance in every episode of the nine seasons and 134 episodes of the show. Season 3 marked the first time Macht received co-producer credit for the series.

PERSONAL LIFE
In 2004, Macht wed Jacinda Barrett, an actress with Australian roots. A daughter, the couple’s first child, was born in Los Angeles in August 2007. In February 2014, they welcomed a son as their second child.
Since they first met in 1993 at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Macht has been Sarah Rafferty’s best friend for more than 28 years. He attended co-star Meghan Markle’s nuptials to Prince Harry in May 2018 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
