Former Governor of Nagaland and former Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Ashwini Kumar, committed suicide at his residence in Shimla. He committed suicide by hanging himself. Police gave its information.
According to police sources, his body was found hanging at the residence in Brak Haast in Shimla. Information about why the former IPS officer took this dreadful step has not been revealed. At present, the police team led by SP Shimla Mohit Chawla is present at the scene and is investigating in the case.
Police has also recovered suicide note from the spot. In which it has been written that I am going out of my life and going on the next journey. Everyone is shocked by this incident of suicide.
Ashwini Kumar became the director of the CBI in 2008 when the agency was investigating the Aarushi Talwar murder case. Kumar had replaced Vijay Shankar as the director of the CBI. Officials said that Kumar later became the Governor of Nagaland. Kumar was currently the Chancellor of a private university in Shimla. Officials said that the body of Kumar, a 1973-batch IPS officer, was found hanging in his house in Shimla on Wednesday evening.
