PM Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) will inaugurate India’s first driverless Metro operational service on the magenta line of Delhi Metro on Monday.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has issued a statement and informed it. As soon as this service starts the use of modern technology will be the emergence of a new era of transport and traffic in India.
According to DMRC’s statement, the driverless Metro service will commence between Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden on the 37 km long magenta line. Thereafter the service will be launched by the middle of 2021 between Majlis Park and Shiv Vihar on the 57 km long pink line. With this the operation of these new generation trains will join the Delhi Metro a special group of seven per cent metro network in the world providing driverless services.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate India’s first driverless train operation service on the Magenta Line (Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden) of Delhi Metro through video conference at 11 am and national common mobility card service on the Airport Express line.
These innovations will herald a new era of pleasant transport and favorable traffic for the residents of Delhi and other cities of the National Capital Region(NCR).
A senior Delhi Metro official said that the commercial launch of these new generation services will be a major achievement and will be launched on the next day of inauguration.
According to the information the driverless trains will be fully automated with minimal human intervention. The apprehensions of human errors will also be low. The operation of unmanned Metro on pink line is likely to commence by mid-2021.
With this, the network of driverless Metro operations will be about 94 kms. With the full implementation of the National Common Mobility Card on the Delhi Airport Express line, rupay debit cards issued from any part of the country can be used for travel. The facility will be made available on the entire network of Delhi Metro by 2022.
