Early Life of Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan was born in Allahabad. His father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a famous poet, and Bachchan’s mother, Teji Bachchan is a social activist. Bachchan’s parents were going to name him Inquilaab as this phrase was popularly used during the time of the freedom struggle. Sumitranandan Pant, a famous poet suggested the name Amitabh to his parents. Although his surname was supposed to be Shrivastava his parents named him Amitabh Bachchan as they were against the caste system. He studied at Sherwood College, Nanital, and then he went to Kirori Mal College for his graduation. He has done his graduation with a Bachelor of Science.

Bachchan Acting Career

Bachchan started his film career in 1969 as a voice artist for the film Bhuvan Shome. This film was directed by Mrinal Sen and it won National Award. His acting career started with the movie Saat Hindustani. Anand was his next movie. He was working with Rajesh Khanna. This movie brought Bachchan his first Filmfare award. But things were about to get worse. His other movies didn’t perform so well and he was seen as a newcomer failure.

Bachchan had worked in 14 movies in just 4 years. But only 2 of them were hit all others were a major flop. But as we all say things never stay the same. So did happen with Bachchan. After 1973 situation started improving. He performed in the movie Zanjeer, in this movie Amitabh played a role of an angry young man. This movie was a huge success. He was nominated for Best Actor.
