Jaipur, Rajasthan: An alarming case of violence against women and children has emerged from Pragpura. On Tuesday, the victimized family arrived in Jaipur to demand justice. The family alleged that they were being intimidated using the name of BJP MLA Kuldeep Dhankhar and accused the police and administration of being under political pressure.
Incident Details
According to the report filed at the Pragpura police station, a young man from Paota Kotputli had registered an FIR. The attack reportedly occurred on December 11 around 11 a.m. when the man was away on some work, leaving the women and children alone at home.
During this time, five camper vehicles arrived at the house carrying around 35-40 armed individuals led by Dhauluram Jat, Jayaram Jat, Hemant Dhankhar, and Ramnivas. The attackers, armed with sticks and rods, launched a brutal assault. They abducted the family members and took them approximately 15 kilometers away to the Sukhi River. There, the victims were mercilessly beaten and robbed of their jewelry and mobile phones.
Police arrived at the scene after being alerted and admitted the five injured victims to Paota Hospital. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were later referred to Jaipur for further treatment.
Allegations Against the MLA
The victimized family has accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Dhankhar of enabling the attack. They claimed that Dhankhar’s brother, Hemant Dhankhar, and brother-in-law, Dhauluram Jat, were mentally harassing them and threatening to implicate them in false cases. The family also alleged that the police were not taking proper action due to political influence.
Demands for Justice
The family has called for an investigation by the CID-CB (Criminal Investigation Department-Crime Branch). They have also requested government protection to ensure their safety amidst ongoing threats.
Police Action
Police authorities stated that seven individuals, including Dhauluram Jat, have been arrested. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend the remaining attackers who are currently at large.
MLA Kuldeep Dhankhar’s Response
In his defense, MLA Kuldeep Dhankhar denied all allegations, stating, “The accusations made using my name are completely baseless. I have instructed the police officials to ensure lawful action is taken. Seven individuals have already been arrested by the police.”
