Born on October 25, 1987, in India, Umesh kumar Tilak Yadav is a professional cricketer currently competing in the Indian Premier League for the teams Vidarbha, Middlesex, and Kolkata Knight Riders. He is also a member of the Indian national squad.

Yadav, a right-arm fast bowler, has been a member of the Vidarbha squad at the local level since 2008, and he is the team’s first player to appear in a Test match. It was in May of 2010 that he played in his first One-Day International (ODI), which was a match against Zimbabwe. In November of the following year, Yadav played his first test match against the West Indies. During the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, he took the third most wickets overall and led India in terms of the number of wickets he took. He now holds the record for the highest strike rate in an innings in Test cricket, which he achieved by scoring 31 runs in 10 balls with a strike rate of 310 during a match against South Africa in October 2019.

PERSONAL LIFE

Prior to beginning his career as a professional cricketer, Umesh made many attempts to join the military and the police force, but he was never successful. Yadav tried to join the college cricket team, but he was not allowed to do so since he had never participated in club sports. In the year 2007, Yadav became a member of Vidarbha Gymkhana, which is a club that is affiliated with the Vidarbha Cricket Association and was founded in 1969 by J.A. Karnewar.

He also participated for the very first time in the Guzder League ‘A’ Division cricket league, which is run by the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA). Yadav received support from Pritam Gandhe, the captain of Vidharbha’s Ranji Trophy team, who ensured that he participated in a Twenty20 competition for Air India. When asked by Yadav about his early career, Gandhe said: “He was a tough and unruly person. However, he was swift — much too quick. If he can land at least three out of every six balls in line with the stumps, I feel he will test the hitters’ mettle and challenge them.”

On April 16, 2013, Umesh and Tanya Wadhwa, a fashionista residing in Delhi, announced their engagement to one another, and on May 29, 2013, they wed. Since Umesh’s brother had been acquitted in a robbery case, there has been tension in Umesh’s family life. His father is originally from Deoria, which is located in Uttar Pradesh. During the formative years of his life, he made the journey from Jharkhand to Nagpur.

It wouldn’t be until October 2011 that he would have his next interaction with a global figure. After India’s tour to South Africa in December 2010, Yadav was cut from the national squad and never played for India again.
