As tensions raising with US in the Baltic Sea, Russia has tested the world’s fastest flying hypersonic anti-ship missile.
The Russian Defence Ministry said that the missile achieved a speed of more than 8 Mac (9888 km per hour). According to live monitoring and recording of data, the missile accurately destroyed the target located 450 km away.
The missile has been tested at night in the Barant Sea. This was the second successful test of the missile. The hypersonic missile was fired from the Russian Navy’s Phygret Admiral Gorshkov.
The defence ministry also said that, The missile flew at an altitude of 28 km and destroyed its target by covering a distance of 450 km in 4.5 km. In the meantime, the missile achieved a speed of 8 Mac.
