Early Life

Ruben Doblas Gundersen was born on February 13, 1990, in Mijas, Spain. His parents got divorced when he was just three years old. After the divorce, Ruben & his mother shifted to Bergen. His mother, Bente became a partner with a person named Hector. Doblas denotes Hector as The Godfather in his videos. SNES was his first gaming console. SNES played a major role in his life as it developed a love for gaming in his heart of Ruben. When he was 16 his mother & Hector got separated. He then shifted to Norway and completed his studies & after that returned to Hector. He pursued further studies in 3D modeling & animation at Ateneo School in Madrid.

Ruben Doblas created his first YouTube channel named Elrubius in 2006. The title of his first video was “The audience” which was uploaded on December 8, 2006. This was a video of him playing the game Grand Theft Auto IV. He is uploading videos regularly since 2011. He created his second channel named “elrubiusOMG” IN 2011. After one month he uploaded his first video on this channel. He started by reuploading his old videos on this channel. He then started creating videos of himself commenting on the gameplay and situation of various games. He became the most subscribed channel in Spain in 2012. He was also invited by Ubisoft Spain to create content on E3.

He also released a book titled ELLibro Troll. This book soon became a super hit. It was one of the best-selling books in Spain. He crossed 20 million subscribers in August 2016. He tweeted Limonada after this achievement. It is one of the most shared tweets ever. He took a short break from YouTube in 2018. He has also been a part of the movie Uncharted. This movie had big names such as Tom Holland.
