All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the most successful spin bowlers in the world, an amazing player of the Indian cricket team, Ravichandran Ashwin, who has a world record of taking 275 wickets in just 50 Test matches. After Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, he is the Indian player who has won the ICC Cricketer of the Year award.
Life story of Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin was born on 17 September 1986 in Chennai city of Tamil Nadu. Tha, father’s name is Ravichandran and mother’s name is Chitra.
Ravichandran started his early studies at the Padma-Sheshadri Bala Bhavan and St. Badges School. Later, he took admission in SSN College of Engineering, from where he completed his B.Tech from IT.
Instead of becoming an engineer, Ravichandran Ashwin chose the path to pursue a career in cricket and for the first time in December 2006, he got a chance to play for Tamil Nadu in first class cricket.
From 2006 to 2009, Ashwin played for the Tamil Nadu and South Zone teams. In 2009, he got an opportunity to play for the IPL team Chenai Superking.
Ravichandran Ashwin was fed only in two matches. Because of which he failed to prove his talent. But in the very next IPL he became the most wicket-taking bowler, and was awarded the title of Player of the Tournament.
Due to a strong performance in the IPL of 2010, he got an opportunity to play for India’s national team. Visited Zimbabwe in June 2010.
He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka on 5 June 2010, scoring 38 runs off 32 balls and taking 2 wickets for 50 runs in Boling.
Ravichandran Ashwin also made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe, where he took one wicket for 22 runs in four overs.
Ravichandran Ashwin was selected for the tri-series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka, but he could not get a chance due to Pragyan Ojha and Ravindra Jadeja playing in the team.
In the three-match ODI series against Australia, it was decided to give a chance to some new players by sitting the leading spinners so that Ashwin can return to the team.
Ashwin was the best bowler in the match played in this series, in which he took 1 wicket for 34 runs in nine overs. And that match was won by India by five wickets.
Ashwin also made his Test debut against the West Indies in November 2011.
Just from here Ashwin never looked back, and by taking 100 wickets in his only 18 Tests, made a world record for taking the most wickets in the fewest matches.
As of now, Ashwin has played 52 Tests, 111 ODIs and 46 T20 matches.
Awarded Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2014. Apart from this, after Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, he is the Indian player who has won the ICC Cricketer of the Year award.
Talking about personal life, Ashwin married childhood friend Prithi Narayanan.
On 11 July 2015, he became the father of a baby girl whom he named Akhira. And then in December 2016, she had another baby girl named Preeti from Preeti
