A major update has emerged regarding the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer ‘Ramayana: Part One’. According to reports, the film may now hit theaters one week prior to Diwali 2026 specifically on October 30, 2026. Earlier, the makers planned to release the film during Diwali 2026. However, reports say they now want to release it before the festival to create positive buzz and increase box office collections in the second week. The final release date has not been confirmed yet. Reports also claim that top distributors have offered around ₹450 crore for the film.
Big Star Cast of Ramayana: Part One
Ranbir Kapoor’s look as Lord Ram was revealed on Hanuman Jayanti and received a great response online. The film stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Arun Govil, who played Ram in the 1987 TV show Ramayan, will play King Dasharatha in the film.
Being produced on a budget of approximately ₹4,000 crore, this film is poised to become one of the most expensive productions in the history of Indian cinema. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the filmmaker behind the blockbuster hit Dangal.
The film’s musical score is being composed by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The film’s VFX is being created by Oscar-winning studio DNEG along with Prime Focus. The film will release in IMAX and will come in two parts the first part in 2026 and the second in 2027.
