He did his schooling at Polaris School. West started writing at the tender age of 5 years old. He convinced his mom to pay for the recording of his first rap song at the age of 13 years old. He recorded in a small basement where he crossed paths with DJ No I.D. who became his friend and later mentored Kanye to become an artist like he is today.
