Kajol recently revealed that she was initially quite uncomfortable regarding an on-screen kiss in the web series The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha. She explained that she broke her 30-year-old “no-kiss” policy solely because it was a requirement of the character.
A Major Decision Made for the Sake of the Role
Speaking on a podcast, Kajol stated that this scene was not merely a kiss; rather, it was a crucial element deeply intertwined with her character’s mindset, emotions, and life. Had it been omitted, the story would have felt incomplete.
Kajol also admitted that she remained highly uncomfortable right up until the moment of filming, and she herself was unsure whether she would be able to pull off the scene. However, treating it as a professional obligation, she went ahead and completed it.
In this series, Kajol portrays the character of Noyonika Sengupta, a woman attempting to rebuild her life and career following a scandal involving her husband.
