Early Life-
Born and brought up in the Silk City Bhagalpur, Jyoti has had a literature-ingrained upbringing. Her parents have authored several books in Angika Language including ‘Srimad Bhagavad Gita’ translated into Angika by her father, ‘Angiras’ (Lt.) Dr. Shivchandra Jha. Her schooling at Mount Carmel School further added to her keen interest and evolving attentiveness to the vast literature in both English and Hindi.
She further pursued her education in Pune, the land of the educationist and social reformer, Savitribai Phule, where she graduated in Microbiology and studied Business Management (MBA) in HR.
Corporate Career and Break-
Having been associated with corporates like Infosys, Whirlpool, and Pronto Networks, Jyoti quit her flourishing career and moved across continents with her family during which she dwelled in USA and UK for about a decade. Sheenjoyed raising her child, globe-trotting and traversing different places, and spending an endless number of hours in the quiet libraries where her deep-rooted longing to explore and express through words resurfaced.
Literary Journey- A chance sighting of the TOI Write India season 3 contest in the newspaper, while she wassettling back into the comfortable familiarity of her home country, India, tingled her yearning to pen down her ponders, and a winning title in the competition for the author Upamanyu Chatterjee’s promptprovided winds beneath her wings as she plunged into the vast literary world. She has since then authored three booksin English and one debut novel in Hindi. Her recent contribution to Hindi literature is asthe Editor of a book about Padmashree Sindhutai. Awarded ‘Savitribai Phule Rashtriya Samman’, and ‘Iconic Authors 2022’, she has been awarded as ‘Author of the year’ and ‘Best Reviewer of the year 2020/2021’.
