India on Saturday expressed deep concern over the escalating situation in Iran and the Gulf region, urging all parties to exercise restraint, avoid further escalation, and prioritise the safety of civilians. In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said, “India is deeply concerned at the recent developments in Iran and the Gulf region. We urge all sides to exercise restraint, avoid escalation, and prioritise the safety of civilians. Dialogue and diplomacy should be pursued to de-escalate tensions and address underlying issues. Sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states must be respected.”
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that Indian missions across the region are in close contact with Indian nationals and have issued advisories urging them to remain vigilant, stay connected with diplomatic missions, and adhere to local security guidelines.
Earlier, the Embassy of India in Tehran advised Indian nationals in Iran to exercise utmost caution, avoid unnecessary movement, and remain indoors as far as possible given the evolving situation. The Embassy also asked citizens to monitor news updates, maintain situational awareness, and follow further guidance, while sharing emergency contact details.
Amid rising tensions, the Embassy of India in Doha issued an important advisory for Indian nationals in Qatar, urging them to take due precautions and follow updates issued by the Embassy and local authorities. The advisory emphasised staying away from military sites, remaining indoors, and stepping out only when absolutely necessary to minimise risk.
Similarly, the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi released an urgent advisory asking Indian nationals in the United Arab Emirates to avoid non-essential travel, remain alert, and comply with safety instructions from UAE authorities and the Embassy. It confirmed that both the Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai continue to function normally and remain accessible through toll-free and WhatsApp helplines in case of emergencies.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump stated early Saturday that US forces were conducting a “massive and ongoing” military operation against Iran. In a video message posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said the objective was to “destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground.”
