Genelia D’Souza is an Indian actress and model. She was born in Mumbai on 5 August 1987. Her name is a brew of her parents’ names Jeanette and Neil which means “rare” or “unique”. She did her schooling at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra and later joined St. Andrew’s College in Bandra to pursue Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies.
CAREER
Genelia at 15 started her career as a model when she appeared in a Parker Pen advertisement opposite Amitabh Bachchan through which she gained wide recognition from the audience. In 2003, she made her Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Tujhe Meri Kasam’. Simultaneously, she made her debut in non-Hindi films. She did the Tamil movie ‘Boys’ and the Telugu movie ‘Satyam ’in 2003. Genelia has also made cameo appearances in a few movies like ‘Jai Ho. ‘Mere Baap Pehle Aap’, ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, ‘Happy’, ‘Orange’, ‘Force’, ‘Masti’, and ‘Life Partner’ are some of her movies.
