The Chief Justice S.A Bobde said that the decision on Rajoana’s petition should be taken before Republic Day.
The Supreme Court said that they are giving two to three weeks time to the Center. The Center has to take a decision on the petition by 26 January.

On August 31, 1995, the then Chief Minister Beant Singh was blown out of the Central Secretariat of Chandigarh in a bomb blast. 16 people were also killed in this terrorist attack with them. In this attack, Punjab Police employee Dilawar Singh played the role of a human bomb. It is known that Rajoana was sentenced to death by the special court in the year 2007.
