Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is facing legal trouble after a petition in the Delhi High Court claimed that the movie shows sensitive military details. The Court has now asked the Government and CBFC to investigate the matter.
SSB Officer Files Petition Against the Film
The petition was filed by SSB Head Constable Deepak Kumar. He alleged that some characters, locations, and military operations shown in the film look very similar to real army officers and martyred soldiers. According to him, showing such detailed information in movie could break the Official Secrets Act.
The bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tejas Kariya said that even if the film is fictional, national security concerns cannot be ignored. The Court treated the petition seriously and asked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to investigate the matter. The final decision will now be taken by the government and the CBFC together.
Despite the controversy, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is performing strongly at the box office. Reports say the film has earned around ₹1,145 crore net in India and nearly ₹1,797 crore gross worldwide. Alongside Ranveer Singh, the film features Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Gaurav Gera, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles. The film has been directed by Aditya Dhar.
