Bollywood actress Gul Panag has expressed her displeasure regarding a post by YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, in which he suggested “embarrassing” Prime Minister Narendra Modi abroad by asking him questions. On the social media platform X, Dhruv Rathee wrote that wherever PM Modi travels, he should be subjected to questioning, given that he has not held a single press conference in the last 12 years.
Dhruv Rathee further asserted that foreign journalists, too, should demand answers from PM Modi. The post came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Norway, where a journalist in Oslo tried to ask him questions about democracy and human rights in India. PM Modi walked away without replying, and the video later went viral on social media.
Gul Panag Reacts to Dhruv Rathee’s Post
Gul Panag said that in a democracy, people have the right to question the government and express disagreement. However, she added that mocking India’s Prime Minister on foreign soil is not right, as it can harm the country’s image.
Apart from acting, Gul Panag has also been involved in politics and social work. In 2014, she contested the Lok Sabha elections from Chandigarh on an AAP ticket.
