Asin Thottumkal was born on October 26, 1985, in Cochin, Kerala, India (age 36 as of 2021). Scorpio is her horoscope sign. At the Naval Public School in Cochin, she completed her education up to matriculation. During her time at school, Asin actively engaged in literary contests. She attended St. Theresa’s Higher Secondary School and decided to pursue higher education in the humanities. St. Teresa’s College in Kochi awarded Asin a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.
Asin is from a Catholic Malay family.
Joseph Thottumkal, a former CBI officer who is now a businessman who mostly engages in the trade of furniture and antiques, is Asin’s father.
Seline Thottumkal, a surgeon, is her mother’s name.

CAREER:

Asin made her acting debut in the 2001 Malayalam comic drama Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka at the age of 15.
Asin made her Telugu acting debut in the 2003 movie Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, in which she played Chennai.
She made her acting debut in the 2004 Tamil film M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, in which she played Malabar.
Alongside Nagarjuna, Asin portrayed the character of Vasanta in the Telugu movie Shivamani in 2003. Asin gained notoriety in 2005 when she costarred with Surya in the Tamil film Ghajini as Kalpana.
She had two appearances in Tamil movies that year, Sivakasi and Majaa.

Asin made two Tamil cinema appearances in 2007: as Priya in Aalwar and as Shruthi in Pokkiri. Her work as a TV anchor was well-liked by the audience because of the success of Pokkiri. Asin performed the twin parts of Kodhai and Andal in the 2008 Tamil film Dasavatharam, which also starred Kamal Haasan.
In 2008, Asin made her Bollywood debut with the same-named version of her hugely successful Tamil flick Ghajini. Ghajini became the first Bollywood movie to gross more than Rs. 1 billion domestically in 2008.
In the movie Ready with Salman Khan in 2011, Asin portrayed the part of Sanjana Singh Kapoor. Asin appeared in the movies Housefull 2, Bol Bachchan, and Khiladi 786 in 2012.

Asin Thottumkal wed Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma on January 19, 2016, initially in a Christian ceremony, then in a Hindu one.
Arin Sharma, the couple’s daughter, was born on October 24, 2017.
