Amit Anil Chandra Shah is the current Minister of Home Affairs & Cooperation. He also has been the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He has also been the Chairman of the National Democratic Alliance. He is the MP from the seat of Gandhinagar. He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha back in 2017.

Early Life of Shah

Amit was born on October 22, 1965, in Mumbai. He hails from a Hindu Vaishnava family. He is born to Anil Chandra & Kusumben Shah. His father is the owner of a PVC pipe business. He spent his childhood in Mehsana & then shifted to Ahmedabad for graduation. He pursued a degree of BSc from CU Shah Science College. He has worked in his father’s business, as a stockbroker & a banker.

Shah has been involved with RSS since his childhood. He has been a member of a branch of RSS. He formally became a member of RSS in his college days. He met the current prime minister of India, Mr. Modi during that time only.

The Career of Amit Shah

Amit joined the student wing of RSS named ABVP in the college. When he was just 18, he became a position holder ABVP. In 1987, he became a member BJP. In 1997, Shah won his first election in Ahmedabad, Sarkhej. It was a by-election. He was on that post till 2007. He was then elected from Naranpura in 2012.

He was a close associate of then chief Minister of Gujrat, Narendra Modi. Shah was in charge of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. And he played a crucial role in the winning of the BJP in those elections. He again showed his magic in the 2017 state elections of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand & Manipur. On May 30, 2019, Amit became Cabinet Minister.
