Jasmine’s Journey
Jasmine’s fiancé, Shekhar, likes to stay away from the public eye. Jasmine has also not shared much about him. Born in Jalandhar, Punjab, Jasmine started singing at the age of six. At 13, she moved to California with her family and worked hard to become a singer. She began writing songs and created her own style by blending Punjabi music with West Coast hip-hop.
Success did not come easily. Jasmine once revealed that she used to stand outside clubs in the US, selling her music CDs for just ₹20, hoping someone would listen to her songs. She got her first hit with Muskan in 2008, but became widely popular after the 2012 album Gulabi with Bohemia. Her Bollywood breakthrough came in 2014 with the song Yaar Naa Miley from Salman Khan’s Kick, followed by hits like Illegal Weapon.
Today, Jasmine is one of the biggest names in Punjabi music. She reportedly charges around ₹30–35 lakh for a film song and ₹10–25 lakh for a live concert. Her estimated net worth is around ₹60 crore. The Dream Girl India Tour began in Delhi on July 11 and will next travel to Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chandigarh.
