Mumbai hosted the Indian premiere of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey on Saturday. Nolan arrived with Hollywood stars Tom Holland and Matt Damon for the special screening. Before the premiere, the trio stopped at a local café to enjoy a cup of tea.
Universal Pictures India shared their pictures on social media with the caption, “A quick tea break before The Odyssey premiere in Mumbai. A big night awaits, but chai comes first!” The photos quickly went viral, with many fans praising the stars for keeping things simple. One fan wrote, “Tea before the red carpet,” while another praised the stars for their simple nature.
Nolan Excited to Finally Celebrate a Premiere in India
The Mumbai premiere was attended by the film’s cast, makers, and several Bollywood celebrities. The Odyssey, starring Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron, is set to release in theatres on July 17.
Christopher Nolan said he had wanted to hold the premiere of Tenet in India because parts of the film were shot in Mumbai. However, the COVID-19 pandemic made it impossible. He added that bringing The Odyssey to India now is a very special and exciting moment for him.
Tom Holland described the film as a “love letter” to cinema and movie lovers. He said Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway’s performances will touch the hearts of the audience. Christopher Nolan is one of Hollywood’s most famous directors.
