Sanju Viswanath Samson is an Indian cricketer. He plays Rajasthan Royals in IPL. He is also the captain of the Kerala state team. He is a right-handed batsman who most plays in the top order. In the 2014 Under-19 World Cup he was the vice-captain of the team.

Samson was born on 11 November 1994 in Pulluvila. He hails from a Latin Catholic Malayali family. Samson Viswanath, his father was a retired football player and a police constable in the Delhi police. Ligy Viswanath, his mother is a housewife. He also has a brother named Saly Samson.
Sanju used to live in a Police colony in Delhi. He had done his schooling at Rosary Senior Secondary School. Yashpal was his cricket coach. His father took a voluntary retirement for the sake of his children’s cricket careers.

Sanju started playing cricket in Delhi but then moved to Kerala. His junior career has been very inconsistent. Sometimes his gameplay was world-class level and other times not so good. He started playing first class for the Kerala cricket team in 2011. He played his first IPL match for Rajasthan Royals in 2013. He won the award of Emerging Player of the Year. In 2012, during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored a total of 212 runs and became the sixth to score a double century in List A.
