Lok Sabha Election 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday criticized the Congress for “raising question marks” about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and asserted that every square inch of the territory is owned by India and no power can take it.
“Manishankar Aiyar is asking us to respect Pakistan because it has a nuclear bomb. A few days ago, Indian alliance leader Farooq Abdullah had said not to talk about PoK because Pakistan has a nuclear bomb. I I want to tell the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party alliance that PoK belongs to India and no power can take it away,” Shah said at an election rally in Jharkhand’s Khunti.
He said, “I don’t know what has happened to the Congress. A resolution was passed unanimously in the Parliament that PoK is a part of India. Now you (Congress) are raising a question mark on PoK by talking about the nuclear bomb. BJP Pakistan’s stand is clear that every inch of PoK belongs to India and it will remain India’s.
He claimed that although Congress retained Article 370 for seventy years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured that it was abrogated. Shah urged people to support the BJP and claimed that the JMM-led alliance in Jharkhand is full of corruption.
He said, “The JMM-led alliance is involved in Rs 300 crore land scam, Rs 1,000 crore mining scam, Rs 1,000 crore MNREGA scam, Rs 40 crore liquor scam. We call the JMM-led alliance a waste of the poor’s money. Won’t let you digest it.” ” He said.
Referring to the recovery of around Rs 350 crore from a Jharkhand-based complex belonging to a Rajya Sabha MP, he said the money that was being “looted by Rahul Baba’s party” belonged to the people of Jharkhand and would be returned to the public. and Rs 35 crore from domestic help of an officer linked to Jharkhand-based Congress minister Alamgir.
He accused JMM and Congress of doing vote bank politics. He said, “Congress created obstacles in the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya for 70 years, while PM Modi constructed the temple in five years…Rahul Baba did not come to the Ram temple consecration because he feared his ‘vote bank’ Was.” I want to ask Rahul Gandhi why Congress failed to appoint any tribal president during its rule”, he said, taking a dig at the grand old party and the Bharatiya Janata Party alliance. Shah said that under Congress rule, Maoists exercised rights over water, forests and land in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. “After making Modi the Prime Minister, he eradicated the Maoist threat and ushered in development,” he said.
The Home Minister said that the credit for freeing Jharkhand and Budha Pahad from the clutches of Maoists goes to BJP and PM Modi. He said it is the BJP rule that has ensured respect and dignity for the tribals and the Prime Minister has already announced to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda as ‘Tribal Pride Year’ in 2025.
He said, Birsa Munda waged war against the British and its impact was felt all over India, but the Congress and JMM governments did not give their rights to the tribals.
“Now, the tribal population faces the biggest threat from infiltrators who are building houses in tribal villages and marrying local girls. If anyone can stop them, it is only the BJP,” he said. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the tribal welfare budget has been increased to Rs 1,33,000 crore from Rs 29,000 crore under the previous Congress government,” he said. He said that 40,000 teachers will be appointed for Eklavya model schools across the country. A total of one lakh children are enrolled in 740 such schools.”‘
