Virat Kohli has taken a big decision after 1-2 defeat in the Test series in South Africa. Kohli wrote on Twitter, ‘I tried to take the team in the right direction with seven years of hard work, and struggle. I have done my work with complete honesty. And I left no stone unturned. Everything has to stop at some point. And this is the time for me to step down from the Test captaincy of India.
Kohli made his Test captaincy debut in 2014 against Australia. Since then he was the captain of the Indian team. The Cape Town Test against South Africa was the last match of his captaincy in which India lost by seven wickets.
