Kohli, batting brilliantly in the match, scored 63 runs in 78 balls with the help of 5 fours.Kohli today took the world record for completing the fastest 12,000 runs in ODIs as soon as he scored 23rd in the match.Kohli got to the milestone in his 242nd inning.Before him this record belonged to master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin achieved this land mark in 300 innings.

Sachin scored 18,426 runs in 463 matches, Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka 14,234 runs in 404 matches, Ricky Ponting of Australia 13,704 runs in 375 matches, Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka 13,430 runs in 445 matches and Mahela Jayawardene of Sri Lanka 11,867 in 448 matches.
