Romantic comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has been released in theaters on the occasion of Dussehra. The makers claim that this film is 97% family and 3% super family. They say that you will laugh a lot after watching the film. But did this really happen when we saw this film in theaters?
Story of the film (without any spoilers)
Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) is an excellent mehndi artist living in Rishikesh. He falls in love with Vidya (Tripti Dimri) who is studying MBBS and both get married. After marriage, Vicky-Vidya’s family gifted them a trip to Vaishno Devi, but the couple decided to spend their honeymoon in Goa instead of going to Vaishno Devi. Vicky claims that American couples make videos of their private moments and watch them together to prolong their marriage. Somehow he convinces Vidya to this idea and they both record their first video.
After returning from Goa, both of them watch that video every night before sleeping. One day their house is burgled in which their video is also stolen along with other household items. After this, Vicky’s sister Chanda (Malika Shrawat) and a police officer (Vijay Raj) come into the story. Now the question is whether Vicky is able to find that CD? To know this, you will have to watch the whole film.
Performing
Rajkummar Rao’s comedy timing is very effective. Tripti Dimri has performed better here than in the film Bad News. Tiku Talsania has done a decent job in the role of Vicky’s grandfather. Vijay Raj has tried his best to improve the average script. Mallika Sherawat and Ashwini Kalsekar have acted well, but their characters are not written properly.
Direction
Director Raj Shandilya has a lot of experience in comedy and he has also written scripts for shows like Comedy Circus. This is the reason why tremendous comedy has been seen in his film Vicky Vidya ka woh wala Video. However, the film makers took so much time to find that video that by the end the film starts to seem boring.
Makers got into trouble for copying Stree
The first part of the film is quite entertaining. The story, acting and comedy are all going in the right direction. However, the second part is disappointing. Actually, in the second part of the film, the makers tried to add horror elements related to the film “Stree”, which reduces the message of the film and its impact on people.
Watch or not
The message of the film is clear: never make a video of your private moments. For this reason, you must watch this film at least once.
