Shivani Desai, popularly known as Rashami Desai, is an Indian actress who has done many Indian television shows and movies. She is widely known for her role in the television series “Uttaran” and gained more fame after becoming a contestant in “Bigg Boss 13.”

EARLY LIFE

Rashami Desai was born Shivani Desai on 13 February 1996 into a Gujarati family. She was born in the Nagaon town of Assam. She is the elder child of the family and has a younger brother, Gaurav Desai. She has done her schooling at JB Khot primary school. She was pursuing a Diploma from Monjee college of commerce and economics when she got her first acting assignment.

CAREER

Rashami made her debut in the acting field in 20002 with her cameo role in the film “Kanyadaan.” In 2004, she made he Bollywood debut alongside Shah rukh khan and Raveena Tandon in Birendra Nath Tiwari-directed film “Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke.” In 2006, Rashami made her television debut in a mythological serial, “Ravan.” She then appeared in many serials like “Pari Hoon Main,” “Ssshhhh…Phir Koi Hai”, and “Meet Mila De Rabba.” But after she had played the role of Tapasya in color’s television series “Uttaran,” she gained immense recognition and popularity.

She also received the ITA Award for Best Actress Popular and Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Negative Role for this role. After this success, she appeared in many shows like “Comedy Circus 3 Ka Tadka”, “Zara Nachke Dikha,” “Zara Nachke Dikha,” “Meethi Choori No 1”, “Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5”, “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 6”, “Nach baliye,” “Dil Se Dil Tak” and many more. In 2019 she participated in Bigg Boss 13, which again gave him lots of recognition and support worldwide because of her personality. She again entered Bigg Boss 15 as a wild contestant and became the 5th runner-up.

PERSONAL LIFE

In 2012, Rashami married her Uttaran co-star Nandish Sandhu. The marriage couldn’t last long, and the couple divorced in 2015. There were rumours that Rashami was dating Arhaan Khan. But, the talks stopped after Salman Khan revealed in one of the episodes of Bigg Boss that Arhaan is married and have a child.
