Roshni Nadar Malhotra (born 1980/81) is an Indian billionaire businesswoman who is the chairman of HCL Technologies and the first woman to run an Indian publicly traded IT company. Shiv Nadar, the millionaire industrialist and creator of HCL, only has her as a child. She is listed as the 54th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes in 2019. Roshni is the wealthiest woman in India, according to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List (2019). She is listed as the 55th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes in 2020. In addition, she serves as the CEO of HCL Corporation, the holding company for the whole HCL Group.
Early Life :
Roshni Nadar was born and raised in Delhi, attended Vasant Valley School, and eventually graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in communication focusing on radio, television, and film. She graduated from Kellogg School of Management with an MBA.
Career
Prior to joining HCL, she was a producer for a number of different businesses. She was promoted to executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation a year after joining HCL. She subsequently succeeded her father Shiv Nadar as chairperson of HCL Technologies.
Missionary efforts
Roshni Nadar served as a trustee for the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which oversees the nonprofit Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering in Chennai, before she was named CEO of the HCL Corporation.
She also contributed to the development of the HCL Group’s brand. Nadar is the chairperson of the VidyaGyan Leadership Academy, a leadership institute for impoverished individuals. She founded the trust “The Habitats,” which aims to effort to build and preserve sustainable ecosystems, India is working to protect its native species and natural habitats.
Private life
Nadar has formal training in classical music. Shikhar Malhotra, vice chairman of HCL Healthcare, and she got married in 2010. Armaan, who was born in 2013, and Jahaan are their two sons (born 2017)
