Rohit Shetty is an Indian film director, producer, and television host who works in Bollywood. He is counted amongst the best film directors of Hindi cinema. He was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 14 March 1974. He was born to M.B. Shetty and Ratna, Bollywood junior artists. He has four siblings.
CAREER
Rohit Shetty started his career at the age of 17 as an assistant director in the first film of Ajay Devgan ‘Phool Aur Kaante’. Later he worked with Akshay Kumar as well. In 2003, with the movie ‘Zameen’ he debuted as an individual in directing movies. In 2006, he rose to fame when he directed the first part of Golmaal which became his very first hit.
In 2008, Golmaal Returns was released in theatres. In 2010, Golmaal 3 was released which was a blockbuster movie that entered the 100 crore club within India. In 2011, he collaborated with Ajay Devgan and directed the movie Singham and also directed the Comedy Bol Bachchan in 2012. Both movies were blockbusters and crossed 100 crore clubs within India itself.
