Recently, Rishab Shetty has won the National Award for Best Actor for the film “Kantara”. This movie was made in just Rs 16 crore, while according to some sources, it collected Rs 255 crore at the box office. In a press conference organized to celebrate this victory, the actor expressed his pain and said that OTT platforms are very hesitant to buy Kannada content.
Have to release on YouTube out of compulsion
Speaking to the media, Rishab said- ‘Our films premiere at festivals and win awards but no OTT platform invests in our films. When no OTT platform buys Kannada films, then we are forced to upload them on YouTube channel. I am tired of this. We do not get recovery from such films.’
The credit for this victory goes to all the team members
The actor says, ‘I am just doing my work but the victory of ‘Kantara’ is dedicated to every team member associated with it. I am just the face but the hard work is of many technicians working on the film. I want to thank everyone.’
Apart from “Kantara 2”, I am also working on these films
Rishab Shetty also told that apart from ‘Kantara 2’, he is also working on films like ‘Pedro’ and ‘Vagachipani’ these days. He is producing them himself. He says that films have given him everything and now he wants to give everything to films.
Talking about “Kantara 2”, it is the sequel of “Kantara”. It has been written and directed by Rishab. Once again, Rishab will be seen in the lead role. The audience is very excited for this movie.
