Prime Minister Narendra Modi became emotional while watching the film ‘The Sabarmati Report’. He liked the story of the film very much. This has been revealed by Vikrant Massey.
In an interview, Vikrant said- PM Modi liked the film. He was probably as emotional as I was during the screening of the film. His eyes were moist. It is a matter of satisfaction that our effort was right that we conveyed to the people what happened 22 years ago.
Vikrant further says that PM Modi told me that he liked my work very much. This is a compliment that will remain with me for a lifetime. He thinks that I am a good actor. I will also tell this to my grandchildren.
Story
‘The Sabarmati Report’ is based on the 2002 Godhra incident and the Gujarat riots that followed. At the time when this incident happened, Narendra Modi was the CM of Gujarat. Modi was also accused of not taking any concrete steps to stop the riots. However, he was later given a clean chit.
PM Narendra Modi watched this film on 2 December. However, Vikrant Massey starrer The Sabarmati Report was released on 15 November. A special screening of the film was held at the Balayogi Auditorium of Parliament. Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, along with many ministers, MPs and actors also arrived to watch the film. After the screening, PM Modi praised the makers of the film on his X handle. He wrote- ‘Joined the screening of ‘The Sabarmati Report’ along with fellow NDA MPs. I appreciate the makers of the film for their efforts.’
Shared experience
After watching the film with PM Modi, actor Vikrant Massey shared his experience with the media. He said- Today it was a different experience to watch the film with the Honorable Prime Minister and other cabinet ministers. I probably won’t be able to describe it in words. I am very happy that I got a chance to watch the film with all of them. Watching the film with the Hon’ble Prime Minister is the highest point of my career.
