Indore: A complete ban has been imposed on the sale of liquor in the Indore district from 6 pm on May 11 till the completion of the Lok Sabha election voting on May 13. District Magistrate Ashish Singh has also issued instructions to celebrate Drought Day on June 4. Day of counting of votes. Orders have been issued for closure of all mixed liquor shops, retail liquor shops (RWS-1), and various restaurants and liquor warehouses in Indore district during the dry period. Sale or service of liquor to anyone will be completely prohibited. Shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs and other selling points close during this period.
As part of its drive to curb illicit liquor in Indore, the local excise department took effective action against illegal manufacturing, transportation, storage and sale of liquor as well as people violating rules in Indore district. Assistant Excise Commissioner Manish Khare said that between May 6 and May 8, 102 raids were conducted in different areas of the district, in which 100 cases were registered under various sections of the Excise Act. During these raids, 993 liters of liquor and 3778 kg of Mahua Lahan were seized. The estimated value of the seized goods is Rs 6 lakh. He said the excise department will continue to take action against those engaged in illegal production, transportation, storage and sale of liquor as well as those who violate the rules.
