Introduction:
Software engineer and Indian-American Parag Agrawal, who was CEO of Twitter, Inc. from November 2021 until October 2022, was born on May 21, 1984. On October 27, 2022, three more top officials were also fired after Elon Musk purchased the firm.
Life and schooling
Agrawal was born in the Rajasthani city of Ajmer. His mother is a retired professor of economics at the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai, while his father was a senior officer in the Indian Department of Atomic Energy.
At Mumbai’s Atomic Energy Junior College, he finished his last year of higher secondary school in 2001. That same year, he won a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad, which was held in Antalya, Turkey.
Agrawal earned a Bachelor of Technology in 2005 FromIIT Bombay graduate with a degree in computer science and engineering. He relocated to the United States that year to work under Jennifer Widom’s guidance at Stanford University to complete a Ph.D. in computer science.
Before beginning his career as a software engineer at Twitter in 2011, Career Agrawal completed research internships at Microsoft Research and Yahoo! Research.
Following Adam Messinger’s departure, Twitter announced in October 2017 that Agrawal had been appointed as its new chief technical officer. Agrawal was appointed to lead Project Bluesky, a program to create a decentralized social network protocol, in December 2019, according to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
Twitter CEO Dorsey announced his resignation and Agrawal’s immediate appointment to the position on November 29, 2021. Agrawal received a $1 million annual salary as CEO in addition to stock pay worth $12.5 million. He was ousted from his position on October 27, 2022, when Elon Musk completed the acquisition of the business.
Personal life
Vineeta Agarwala, a general partner at the venture capital company Andreessen Horowitz, is Agrawal’s wife. They have two children, due in 2018 and 2022, respectively. For the birth of his 2nd baby, he took paternity leave from his position as CEO of Twitter.
