Varun Tej’s much-awaited Telugu film ‘Matka’ is already making headlines before its release. The OTT platform Prime Video has been confirmed for the film.
Directed by Karuna Kumar, Matka revolves around a gambling scandal that took place in 20th century India. It is a biography of the most famous ‘matka player’ of his time, Ratan Khetri. The story is based on real events that took place between 1958 and 1982.
The film stars are Varun Tej and Meenakshi Chaudhary, Nora Fatehi, Naveen Chandra, Kishore Kumar ji, Mim Gopi and Ajay Ghosh. It will be released in several languages including Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
The makers shared the teaser of the film on social media and wrote, “From nothing to everything, it takes just one step. Welcome to the world of MAТКА. #MАТКА #MATKAOnNOV14th.”
In another poster, the makers write, “Fierce ambition, courage and emotion.”
